Love

This is the most misunderstood and misused word in our language, yet it is meant to represent the highest human emotion and the greatest attribute of the Supreme Spirit. It is rarely found on Earth in its full and proper expression, what generally passes for Love is infatuation or sexual desire. People may believe they are ‘in love’ when they marry, but marriage is actually a touchstone whereby love is tested to ascertain its genuineness. No one ever ‘falls in love’, for love is something which grows slowly towards full flowering and maturity and requires to be tested and tempered through adversity. Many people have an unconscious awareness of their own inadequacy in relation to love and therefore are afraid to make a full commitment to a so-called loved one.
