Obsession

An intrusion of a metaphysical nature which sustains itself through some psychological or metaphysical weakness in an individual, causing that individual to entertain thoughts or perform actions of an unpleasant, malign or pathological nature. Or it could be a compulsion arising out of the subconscious which the individual is incapable of subduing.
