Poltergeist
This word describes a type of elementals which derive pleasure from frightening and discomforting humans. They have no reasoning power and are very mischievous. Of their own they are unable to affect any material object, but they can utilize the undirected excess energies associated with adolescents and with this move various articles. It is not necessary for the adolescent to be close to the manifestation, though he or she has to be somewhere in the vicinity. The poltergeist gains further energy when humans are frightened by the manifestations of its activity and so the situation tends to compound. The more a poltergeist can terrify a human, the more satisfaction it derives.
