Conditioning

Conditioning is part of earthly life.  It is now fashionable to look upon this word as something repugnant, but the fact is that we have to be conditioned.  Potty-training is conditioning, sleep patterns are the result of conditioning.  We behave according to the way we have been conditioned and our reactions and responses to outside impressions are the outcome of conditioning.  Those parents who take a dim view of any form of conditioning, declaring that the intention is to allow the child freedom of choice (particularly in relation to a philosophy of life of religion) when he or she grows up, are wanting in the quality of their parenting.  This negative conditioning always leaves the child in a spiritual vacuum.  The outcome is that he or she is open to adverse influences in adolescence, and most juvenile delinquents are found to have been negatively conditioned.
